Misrata Heart and Cardiovascular Center, Managed by Apex Health, Receives Libya’s First-of-Its-Kind Institutional Accreditation

Misrata Heart and Cardiovascular Center, managed and operated by Apex Health, has received institutional accreditation, alongside a six-year accreditation as a training center for Arab Board fellowship programs in cardiovascular diseases.

The achievement marks a major milestone for the center and a first for Libya, establishing it as the country’s first Arab Board-accredited training center in this specialty. The accreditation reflects the center’s commitment to maintaining high clinical, educational and operational standards while supporting the development of specialist cardiovascular expertise within the country.

Through its accredited fellowship training programs, the center will contribute to expanding local opportunities for physicians to pursue advanced specialist education and practical training without the need to travel abroad. This will help strengthen the pipeline of qualified cardiovascular professionals and support the continued development of Libya’s healthcare workforce.

The achievement also represents an important step towards improving local access to advanced cardiovascular care and building sustainable clinical capabilities across the healthcare sector.
