Apex Health Leadership Visits Algerian Qatari German Hospital Project Site
10.Jun.2026
Apex Health’s executive team, led by Group CEO Joseph Hazel, visited the Algerian Qatari German Hospital (HAQA) project site alongside a senior delegation from Algeria’s National Investment Fund, led by Director General Salah Labani, as work continues towards the hospital’s planned opening in 2027.
The visit included meetings with contractors, consultants and project management teams to review construction progress, discuss key operational milestones and assess preparations for the next phases of development. The delegations also reviewed the hospital’s readiness requirements, with a focus on ensuring that its infrastructure, clinical services and operational systems meet international healthcare standards.
HAQA is being developed through a strategic partnership between Apex Health and Algeria’s National Investment Fund. The project combines Apex Health’s experience as one of the fastest-growing healthcare developers and operators in the Middle East and North Africa with the Fund’s role in advancing strategic national development projects in Algeria.
The 300-bed tertiary hospital will provide a comprehensive range of advanced specialised medical, diagnostic and surgical services. Designed to address complex healthcare needs within the country, HAQA will help reduce the need for Algerian patients to travel abroad to access specialised treatment.
Once operational, the hospital is expected to strengthen access to trusted, high-quality care, support the development of local clinical capabilities and create new opportunities for healthcare professionals. The project will also contribute to the continued advancement of Algeria’s healthcare sector by introducing internationally aligned care models, advanced technologies and specialised services within the country.
